Spiritual Growth - Part #1

Now that you have been saved, you MUST grow in the grace and knowledge of
our Lord Jesus Christ. You must guard against being as those who spring up
quickly and then let the cares of this world choke them to an early spiritual
death. The Christian life is not a playground, but rather a battleground, and
“our adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he
may devour.” (1Pet. 5:8)

Christian Stewardship

Webster’s dictionary says….. “Tithe” ….to pay or give a tenth part of wages, income, etc. for the support of the church. Let us consider tithing before, during, and after the Law of Moses.

I.    Tithing Before the Law of Moses

Tithing Instituted

Tithing was instructed before the Law of Moses by what man? (Gen. 14:20)

Abraham’s relationship with God was signified by what term? (James 2:23)

Tithing Carried Out

Tithing was carried out by Abraham’s grandson. What was his name? (Gen. 28:20-22)

Tithing Under the Law of Moses (Read Leviticus 27:30-34)

Should a person tithe all of his possessions rather than just money? (Lev.27:30)

II.    Tithing After the Law of Moses

The Ordinance of Baptism

The Lord’s Supper
